I was doing what I always do before I pack for a holiday: trying everything on in front of the mirror so I can work out what goes with what, what I think I’ll actually wear, and which pieces are worth taking (and which should stay behind). Then it occurred to me that this might be interesting to other people. If not, never mind. If so, read on.

I’ve written plenty of holiday packing blogs over the years, but how well do I actually stick to my own advice? That’s debatable. I do think I’m quite good at creating lots of outfits from a relatively small number of pieces, though. Yes, I am aware I don’t need 24 outfits for an 8 day holiday. Could I have slimmed it down? Definitely, yes, but a girl needs options and you never know what’s going to get dirty.

All of these outfits fit into one side of a smaller-than-average suitcase, leaving the other side free for all my lotions and potions. I use these packing cubes from Muji that really help save space.

Here are all the outfits I’ve put together, and below you’ll find a simple list of all the pieces I used.

I couldn’t be bothered trying on shoes because I know I’m only taking 2 pairs of sandals, this pair, this pair and these flip flops. It’s 40 degrees in Italy and I don’t plan on any hikes so the trainers are staying home.
