I spent it all on clothes by the looks of things...

BRAND NEW BALANCE

This special midweek post has been sponsored by New Balance and frankly, I couldn’t be happier about that. One of my favourite trainer brands of the past few years and they won a place in my MOST Comfortable Trainers list too. So, yes, thanks New Balance I am more than happy to showcase some of your new styles and how to wear them.

What I love about these trainers, other than the comfort factor is the retro vibe. My favourite style, the 574s were big in the 80s. Maybe that’s why I’m so drawn to them. They remind me of childhood summers, clipping on those metal roller skates that never seemed to stay on long enough to get you down to the end of the cul-de-sac, or getting out on the Raleigh Chopper and blazing down to Londis to spend my pocket money on ice cream wafers. I never bothered with the actual ice cream, but I LOVED the wafers. Still do.

But this isn’t about my pocket money treats (also Pink Wafers by the way, how good were they?) This is about New Balance, so let’s get on with it…

NEW BALANCE & TEA DRESS

Always one of my go to looks. The midi dress and trainers. I can’t speak for all the New Balance designs but with the 574’s that I have, I would advise to go up a half size if you can as they do seem to come up a bit small. The bonus though is that even when sizing up they make your feet look small. It must be the design, but if you have big feet and worry that wearing a chunkyish trainer will make them look even bigger, then these are the ones for you.

1. New Look Puff Sleeve Floral Midi Dress
2. & Other Stories Heart Button Cardigan
3. Gucci Ophidia GG Flora Bag
4. New Balance 574 Rose Gold Chain Trainers
5. New Balance Unisex 574 Sky Lite Trainers

NEW BALANCE & STRAIGHT LEG JEANS

I’ve had a few people ask my what to wear with their straight leg jeans, well look no further. Don’t be afraid to add a sock with your 574 when it gets chilly. I favour a knee high sock when the weather turns, but for now I’m still wearing the ‘Dad’ trainers with a flash of ankle. Also, I’ve discovered (late to the party) that Primark of all places does the best ever secret socks. They sell them at the till, sort of mesh fabric in all colours and they DON“T slip off halfway through the day! Bonus.

1. H&M Rib Knit Jumper
2. New Look Satin Bow Hair Band
3. H&M Straight High Ankle Jeans
4. & Other Stories Rib Lace Trim Top
5. New Balance 574 Sky Lite Trainers

NEW BALANCE & LOUNGE WEAR

If you’re keen to get in to the colourful chunky trainer trend, then the New Balance 827 could be the ones for you. These are unisex so the size range is big. Loungewear won’t be going anywhere soon. I can’t see a lot of us going back to a regular office environment before the end of the year so we shall still be sporting our joggers and sweats at home for a while yet.

1. Newtone Hawaii T Shirt
2. Arket Nylon Camera Bag
3. Anine Bing Tiger Sweatshirt
4. Hush Lindsay Washed Joggers
5. New Balance Unisex 827 Trainers

NEW BALANCE & LEOPARD

Finally, I couldn’t leave without adding these 997 Leopard accent trainers. I’m always a sucker for an animal print. I don’t know what it is that draws me to it over and over again. I blame growing up on TV diet of Coronation Street and Dynasty. Bet Lynch in a faux fur leopard coat or Alexis Carrington Colby Dexter in a satin leopard turban. These things stay with you for life.

1. TopShop Arizona Eagle T Shirt
2. Kin Leather Tote Bag
3. Monki Single Breasted Blazer
4. H&M Calf Length Leopard Skirt
5. New Balance 997 H Trainers

I hope you enjoyed this bonus blog post. I’ll be back with your regular Sunday service, but I do hope to do a few more surprise posts soon.
