Back in May when Gucci showed their Resort 2025 collection at the Tate Modern, I just KNEW that it would trickle down to the high street in time for the new A/W season. Give that woman a medal as it is definitely happening, and I am fully on board with every one of these looks. I know that, for a high fashion house, they aren’t exactly groundbreaking, but for us mere mortals who can’t afford to be dressed head to toe in Gucci threads, this is a blessing. We can recreate a lot of these looks, or at least take inspiration from them, for a fraction of the cost.
This isn’t to say I won’t be saving for one of those amazing bags, though. A good designer bag is something that will instantly elevate your look, and you don’t have to worry about weight fluctuations as you’ll never be too heavy for a nice bag. See also shoes and accessories.
Let’s have a look at some outfits we can take new season inspiration from.
OVERSIZED SHIRT & JEANS
I mean, come on, how easy is this? All we are doing here is wearing the more modern wide-leg jeans style and adding some tan accessories with a brighter bra. If you don’t fancy showing off your undies you could substitute the lacy bra with a lace trim camisole top and wear the shirt unbuttoned to show it off.

THE MODERN SUIT
Add a fancy blouse and pearls to your regular black suit to imitate this look. And wear your loafers with socks. In fact, I predict socks are going to feature heavily next season. I’ve always been a big sock fan, so this is music to my ears. Talking of music, may I respectfully recommend the new Post Malone album to you. Especially if, like me, you are a bit of a country music fan. Much to the annoyance of the rest of my family, it’s been on repeat here since its release last week.

ALL OVER AUBERGINE
Tonal dressing at its finest. The Gucci source of inspiration is obviously a dress, but I’ve done something similar here with separates of a similar tone. You don’t have to go for aubergine/burgundy/maroon/delete as appropriate. You could go for whatever colour suits you best, but this hue is definitely going to be a big one this coming autumn/winter.

THE TAN SUEDE JACKET
If you’re going to get one thing to update your wardrobe for the new fashion season, then let it be a tan jacket. Ideally suede, but really any fabric will do. I got two on Vinted back in April right after I saw this Gucci show online. One is a faux suede cropped number that will look great with high-waisted jeans, and one is a big, heavy, suede over-shirt (from Warehouse for a fiver!) that will look really good over chunky sweaters when the weather gets colder. In terms of new versions, this one from Sézane is a winner. It sells out a lot, but also gets regular restocks.

IT WILL BE ALL WHITE
Gucci out there showing us that we can wear our white jeans even when summer is coming to its end. You could add your tan jacket to this, or else throw on a blue denim worker-style jacket like this one if it’s chilly.

THE FLORAL SKIRT
Is it time for us to dig out our floral midi skirt again? The jury’s out on that for me. I would probably swap out the florals for a circular-style denim skirt like this one, but that’s because I feel weird if there’s not some sort of denim element to my outfit.

I really enjoyed doing this post. Let me know if you liked it too and I will find more designers to take inspiration from. I think Chloé or Loewe could be good ones to do.
