WearsMyMoney

I spent it all on clothes by the looks of things...

Barrel Jeans, Belts and Bags

This post comes from three requests I’ve had over the past few weeks. One reader asked: ‘Which belts are good these days, and can I still wear that Gucci one I spent all my money on in 2017?’ Another wanted to know: ‘What bag styles do you recommend for this year?’ And a final request said ‘I’ve finally bought into the barrel-leg jeans trend and I love the shape of them, but now I’m stuck on what shoes work with this style.’

So I’m killing three birds with one stone today, and we’ll take a little look at barrel jeans plus shoes, good belts and bags I’m loving for this season.

2025 IS ALL ABOUT SUEDE

If you bought something suede last year, well done you, as that’s a trend that’s only going to increase this year now that the high street has caught up with the high-end designers. So a good suede tote bag is something that will see you through all seasons. The suede loafer – ideally in a shade of brown – is also the perfect shoe to wear with your barrel jeans.

  1. Massimo Dutti cropped cotton argyle knit cardigan
  2. Sezane Conrad T shirt
  3. Arket brown suede belt
  4. Citizens Of Humanity Miro high-rise cropped barrel-leg jeans
  5. Flattered Lesley suede tote bag
  6. COS trapeze utility jacket
  7. Anthropologie Maeve classic suede loafers

CASUAL COOL WITH A STRUCTURED BAG

There’s no reason you can’t use your structured work-style bag with a more casual outfit. Maybe add a few bag charms to give it a less ‘business’ look. Urban Outfitters, Etsy and Anthropologie are all good places to look for charms, or else do what I did, and add some of those souvenir keyrings you’ve collected over the years. And yes, Adidas Sambas are still cool; the retro feel and slim style of these trainers work very well with horseshoe jeans.

  1. Arket Terry sweatshirt
  2. Gant cord varsity bomber jacket
  3. Sandro leather tooled-buckle belt
  4. Flattered Lola black leather tote bag
  5. Zara mid-rise baggy barrel jeans
  6. Adidas solid crew socks
  7. Adidas Originals Samba OG

TAN TONES RULE OK

You don’t need to match your colours completely, but different tones of the same shade in one outfit is a really easy way to style yourself. I have this Loewe belt and it IS a big investment but it’s reversible so it’s basically two belts in one, and I’ve worn it enough times now to fully justify the cost. If the flat Samba/Gazelle style of trainer isn’t for you, have a look at Autry: they still have a retro feel but are a different shape and they work with all jeans styles and are currently 25% off with my code K25 at Coggles

  1. Boden Sienna cotton shirt-fine blue stripe
  2. River Island camel double breasted coat
  3. Loewe Anagram reversible leather belt
  4. Hush Cordelia barrel leg jeans
  5. DeMelier New York midi suede tote bag
  6. Autry Medalist leather trainers (use code K25 for 25% off)

THINK PINK

If last year was all about bright Barbie pink, this year focuses on much more subtle baby pastel pink shades. These work really well to soften blacks and greys. Ballet flats are also still around in 2025, but they’re joined by a slightly sturdier style like these from COS. Again, the slimmer look of these shoes works really well with barrel jeans. You can’t have anything really heavy on your feet when wearing this jeans style as it would make your proportions look all off. You need shoes that are going to show off your ankle and complement the loose feel of the jeans.

  1. Arket French Terry polo shirt
  2. River Island beige check bubble hem bomber jacket
  3. Abercrombie mid rise barrel jeans
  4. Zadig and Voltaire SwingYour Wings bag
  5. Free People Rhodes leather stud belt
  6. COS chunky leather Mary Jane shoes

A LITTLE BIT LADYLIKE

Another belt I have that has paid for itself in price-per-wear is the Déhanche Hollyhock in black and gold. It elevates any outfit in an easy, subtle way. It’s amazing how a simple belt can really pull a look together. Free People do a very similar but less expensive version here.

  1. Hush Esti Boucle jacket
  2. Daisy London Shrimps double heart personalised necklace
  3. Boden sssential boat-neck jersey top
  4. Dehanche Hollyhock leather belt
  5. Sezane Milo classic bag
  6. H&M Barrel high jeans
  7. Jonak Dash polished leather loafers

THE GUCCI BELT IS BACK

In answer to my first caller, yes, you can wear that Gucci belt you spent your hard-earned money on back in 2017. It may have taken a back seat over the past couple of years, but if you have a double G it’s definitely back back back for 2025. That’s the thing with designer bags and accessories – what goes around comes around, and they will ultimately be back in style. Look at LV Speedy bags, the Gucci Jackie and now the Balenciaga City bag: they’re all having a moment again so if you had any of these from back in the day, dig them out and show them off.

  1. Whistles neutral button front V neck cardigan
  2. & Other Stories chunky bell hoop earrings
  3. Gucci GG Marmont canvas belt
  4. M&S mid rise relaxed horseshoe jeans
  5. Zara waxed jacket with contrast collar
  6. ASOS weave tubular tote bag
  7. Mint Velvet Milly brown suede ankle boots

’m always happy to help if you’ve got any specific blog requests. Ideally, not too niche please. ‘Can you do a blog on something to wear to my sister’s wedding in November that will suit me and go with the shoes I already own’ isn’t going to work for everyone…
