I love socks and recently I have had many a request to tell you which ones are good. So here I am to advise you as best I know. I will also furnish you with a wider selection to chose from. So let’s get right into it…
My top 4 small sock brands (that is in company stature, not as in teeny tiny socks) are Ivy Ellis, Rock + Ruby, Genevieve Sweeney and Le Bon Shoppe. All very good in their own way and if you’re looking to treat yourself to a really good pair, then start with those.
For more budget friendly options, I tend to go for things like these and these from Amazon. M&S is still a favourite for black knee highs (good for wearing under cropped trousers in the winter). I also highly rate Uniqlo for their ribbed socks and their Heattech ones for when it gets colder. If you want a really sturdy pair of walking socks that help with breaking in boots, then these Smart Wool ones are my go-to. Oh, and for footsies / trainer socks buy the ‘Sports’ ones at the till in Primark. best on the market, I promise you.
In terms of tights, I love Falke for longevity, I think you get what you pay for when it comes to the thicker, higher denier tights. If you buy cheap they probably won’t last. I literally have some Falke tights that are over 10 years old. For warmth, I like these merino wool ones. For sheers, where no matter how much you spend they could get snagged after a few wears, I love these ones. And for holding you in, H&M shaping tights are great for the price.
