I was going to do a post about party dressing this week, but to be honest, I don’t think I will get to go to many parties this December as work is clashing with most of the Christmas parties. I know that is of no concern to you, but as I tend to write about things that inspire me, that’s just the way it is. If I can’t go to a party then ergo, I’m not looking for a party outfit! But, if I spy some cool party gear over the next few weeks I will of course change my tune. I’m very fickle like that.
What HAS caught my eye this week is this dress from Warehouse. Do I need yet another dress? no, of course I bloody don’t. I’ve got loads, and to be honest, most of them look quite similar to this one. But this one has STARS on it! (plus, I waited patiently to get the Black Friday discount, so I don’t feel too bad about it!) I am strangely drawn to clothes with stars on. My favourite being those Stella McCartney Star jeans that I got for a song on Ebay, never worn, £60! I know! massive deal! I also like skulls too, but maybe it’s time to stop pretending I’m still a 17 year old rock chick and retire the skulls? … No, never going to happen, I still think I’m 17 most days and I will always like skulls. But, let’s focus on the Stars today. After I saw the dress, I started checking out other Star related gear, turns out it’s definitely a trend. Clearly I’m not the only one who likes them.
STAR DRESSES
This could definitely be party gear, maybe I’m not doing you a disservice here after all. I would tend to wear my party dresses with flats, because I can’t walk in heels, let alone dance in them. This is the Warehouse dress I ordered, it hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m hoping it’s going to be a winner for day and night.

STAR SHIRTS & BLOUSES
These can also be evening wear and day wear, another double win. I’d go for one teamed with my beloved wide-legged cropped trousers and some ridiculous platform shoes. Don’t ask me how, but it just works for me. I don’t often look at Next, but recently I’ve been dipping a toe into their website and found a few gems, like this star print shirt and the (sort of) matching watch.

STAR JUMPERS AND JEANS
A more casual style. Something I would get much more wear out of. A perfect cashmere sweater and jeans. I did search around to see if I could find a high-street version of these Stella McCartney jeans, but there are just none that even come close unfortunately…Still, lots of lovely starry cashmere sweaters for you to peruse. If you are more of a sweatshirt girl, you should check out Wear The Stars, they literally only do star sweats, perfect!

STAR ACCESSORIES
An easy way to try out this trend. How cute is the M&S clutch? and a Gucci watch of dreams for your Christmas wish-list. It’s on my Christmas wish list anyway. Never going to happen, but a girl can dream. Plus I’ve also found a whole heap of star motif footwear.

I hope there’s some Stars in your eyes now. I’ll let you know how I get on with my dress.
