This post is sponsored by Albaray and, if you’re a regular reader, you will already know that it’s one of my favourite new high street brands. I say ‘new’, but they have been around for five years now, so I am not sure if that constitutes being new anymore. Let’s say they are constantly evolving, so they still feel new and fresh.
Albaray does feature new trends – as will be evident here – but they tend to err on the side of classic. So yes, there will be a cobalt blue jumper and a kilt skirt featured in the new collection, but they will be designed in such a timeless way that you would be happy wearing them for many seasons to come.
I had a close-up look at the new collection last week, and here are the four trends and pieces that stood out to me the most.
COBALT BLUE
If bright red was the stand shade of 2025, then cobalt blue is this year’s colour to wear. I’m not saying it’s a head-to-toe colour, more that it’s one to use as an accent, and it goes particularly well with brown. Which, as we know, is the new black.
I will be wearing this cotton jumper with my favourite brown suede Albaray trousers this autumn.

THE CHECKED SHIRT
I would say that over half of the Albaray team were wearing this shirt when I saw them last week. You know that if the people who work there have overwhelmingly chosen a particular item from the collection to wear, it must be a good one.
It is smart enough to wear to work (with this grey co-ord), but at the same time, you can wear it with jeans or just tie it around your waist in a very ’90s style.

THE KILT SKIRT
Even while I was putting this post together, the black version of this skirt sold out before my very eyes! Hopefully, they will bring it back again soon, but there is still the classic tartan version and a plaid style to choose from too.
It is definitely the thing to have this autumn/winter.

THE ARGYLE KNIT
We saw a bit of this last year, but it’s coming in full force for the new fashion season. I had a fondle of this polo-knit style jumper, and I can confirm that it is super soft and cosy. Another one to add to my ever-growing wish list.
