Don’t @ me, I know it’s still August, but as we’ve previously discussed, August can be a cruel mistress. One minute she’s saying, “Hey, we’re good, I’m still summer you know, you can put your shorts on today, you’ll be fine,” and the next she’s muttering under her breath, “But take an umbrella, a jumper and, if you’re out past 8pm, a jacket too…”

So for now, we’ll just focus on some light layers at Uniqlo. You should know as well as I do by now that Uniqlo is the best place on the high street for basics: T‑shirts, simple sweaters, classic jackets and really good jeans. They’ve just launched an excellent new jean style too — it’s called the Baggy Curve and that’s kind of exactly what it is. Think a wide-leg jean with a hint of barrel shape. They also come in three leg lengths. I got the 28/31 and they fit like a dream. For reference, I’m 5’7, usually a size 10, and I always buy a medium in everything from Uniqlo.
I just ordered this jacket and this skirt too from the new Comptoir des Cotonniers range. Is it too early to be thinking about corduroy? I’m say no, it is not.
Here are some more of my early autumn picks from Uniqlo.
