Layering like an Onion with Uniqlo

This post is sponsored by Uniqlo. It’s one of the best places on the high street for layering up this winter. If, like me, you often find yourself outside at football matches, or on cold dog walks, you will know how important it is to layer up to keep warm. The trick is to do lots of thin layers rather than a couple of thick ones. Believe me, I have tried many different ways and this is the one that will keep you the toastiest.

Mens cashmere jumper, ultra light down vest and recycled quilted jacket

Always start with a thermal layer. The Heattech range is brilliant. Either a simple vest or long sleeve top will work. Add leggings if the temperature is really dropping. Over that you could do a lot worse than a fine knit merino sweater. Then throw over a cashmere or lambswool jumper. I tend to go for the mens version (in a medium) here, I just like the fit better.

For your outerwear, Uniqlo have a lot of down jackets to choose from (again, don’t limit yourself to the ladies department, the mens versions are sometimes better). I go for a ultra light down vest first, then add a puffer or quilted jacket over that. Mark my words, layer like an onion and you will keep those chills at bay.

Here are my top layering picks from Uniqlo this winter…
