I found myself in John Lewis this week, it was a food-related trip, as they have just launched a new food court-type affair called Platter. I highly recommend a visit if you’re in town; I think they are rolling it out to all stores soon, if they haven’t already. Some lovely coffee and sandwiches were had.
Is it a sign of middle age that you quite like to have a little sit-down and a snack in a department store? Although, even when I was in my 30s, I liked a stop-off at Café Revive in M&S, so maybe it’s just me.
Of course, while I was there, I had to have a little browse of the ladies-wear floor. There were quite a few own-brand gems on offer, so I thought I would do a little autumn round-up for you of some of my favourites. I tried on this burgundy hooded jacket — very nice. I was sorely tempted, especially with the potential rainy days ahead of us. I also loved this reversible car coat — who doesn’t like a 2‑for‑1 deal? These slimline trainers are also on my wish list.
