My Top 7 Spring Jacket Trends for Spring 2026

If you’re a long-time reader, then I don’t have to tell you that jackets are my Achilles’ heel (along with jeans). I’ll put my hand up and say I already have far too many, but I find it really hard to resist new ones. I also struggle to let go of old ones because you just never know if they’re going to come back around again.

I haven’t worn my leather biker jacket in about seven years, but I just know that one day soon the Susie Quatro / Joan Jett look will come back into style. I mean, my sons dress like they live in Manchester circa 1994, so I feel like I could dress like a 1979 rock chick if I wanted to.

But there are some really lovely spring jacket trends around right now if you’re looking for a little wardrobe refresh. I think the reason I like a good jacket so much is that you can throw it on over your oldest jeans and a T‑shirt and still feel put together. Here are seven spring jacket trends I’m loving this year.

THE KHAKI JACKET

It’s a perennial favourite, and I’m sure many of you already have a lightweight khaki jacket knocking around somewhere. I’d say it’s a wardrobe staple, as khaki just goes with everything. My current favourite is this ’70s-style one from By Pollyanna. It’s her first foray into designing, and I think she’s really nailed that Chloé boho vibe.

  1. ME + EM detail trim blouse
  2. Chloe Square Frame Sunglasses
  3. Rixo Thome Drop Earrings
  4. Boden Twist Buckle Belt
  5. By Pollyanna Maggie Swing Khaki Jacket
  6. Citizens Of Humanity Ayla Jeans
  7. Vestiaire Collective pre-loved Chloe Marcie Bag
  8. M&S Suede Flat Square Toe Ballet Pumps

THE LEATHER JACKET

By all means get your Pat Benatar on if that’s your style, but if you fancy a 2026 upgrade, then it’s all about the slightly oversized leather blouson jacket. All the cool girls in Paris were wearing this style, and if anyone knows about fashion, it’s the Parisian ladies. It also gives me slight Dennis Waterman in Minder vibes, which I’m kind of into… although maybe I should have kept that thought to myself.

  1. & Other Stories Boxy Knit Jumper
  2. Edge of Ember Coin Deco Birthstone Necklace
  3. Zara Limited Edition Leather Jacket
  4. Free People Kellee wide-leg corduroy trousers
  5. With Nothing Underneath Boyfriend Shirt
  6. Ganni Red Small Kat Bag
  7. M&S Leather Loafers

THE FUNNEL NECK JACKET

2026 is all about the funnel-neck jacket. They’re everywhere on the high street right now, and they give an instant update to any outfit. They’ll also keep your neck warm if there’s a chill and you refuse to take a scarf out anymore because it’s supposed to be spring, goddammit. Kudos also to this merino v neck sweater. I have been searching for lightweight loose fit navy v neck for a while now and that one was purchased last week. It comes up quite big — I got a small and it’s perfect.

  1. & Other Stories V‑Neck Merino Wool Jumper
  2. Rachel Jackson Smiley Drop Earrings
  3. COS Crew Neck T‑Shirt
  4. Hush Ivy Pleated Linen Blend Midi Skirt
  5. COS Monmartre Leather Bowling Bag
  6. Whistles Funnel Neck Parka Jacket
  7. Adidas Samba OG Sneakers
  8. Uniqlo ribbed socks

THE COOL RAIN JACKET

It’s March, so it’s inevitable that it’s going to rain quite a lot, but you won’t mind so much if you’re sporting a cool raincoat. Yes, there really are such things! I’m loving the drawstring-waist styles that give you a bit of shape, even on a drizzly dog walk. My top favourites are this one from WAT the Brand and this one from Damson Madder.

  1. Damson Madder Navy Check Showerproof Jacket
  2. Tbco Good Luck Cards T‑Shirt
  3. Varley Hawley Half Zip Sweat
  4. Mother Half-pipe Ankle Denim Jeans
  5. Joules Neoprene Lined Ankle Wellies
  6. Barbour packable tartan dog coat

THE SPOTTY JACKET

This is a trend that was spotted at Copenhagen Fashion Week a couple of months ago. It’s already filtering down to the high street — and even the supermarket, as I spotted a really nice one in Tu the other week. I should have nabbed it when I had the chance, as it keeps going in and out of stock. Those savvy Sainsbury’s shoppers know a fashion bargain when they see one.

  1. Ganni Printed Nylon Jacket
  2. Accessorize Polka Dot Umbrella
  3. Uniqlo Racer Back Bra Top
  4. Zara Chino Trousers with tabs
  5. Mhulot Red Leather Bud Bag
  6. Reiss Premium Interlock Collar Sweatshirt
  7. Adidas Tokyo Trainers

THE BARN JACKET

Yes, you’ll be glad to know that if you bought one of these either last year (or the year before), they are still very much a trend for 2026. I’m very happy about this, as I have quite a few, and I love this easy throw-over-anything style jacket. It comes in so many different lengths and fabrics now that there’s definitely one to suit every style.

  1. M&S Cotton Rich Argyle Crew Neck Cardigan
  2. Astley Clarke Daimon Horseshoe Necklace
  3. Mercules Embroidered Cotton Shirt
  4. Arket Relaxed Tailored Trousers
  5. Zara Houndstooth Barn Jacket
  6. M&S Large Suede Tote Bag
  7. HOFF Bridge Suede Trainers

THE DENIM JACKET

Finally, we couldn’t talk about spring jackets without including your trusty denim jacket. The classic western style will still be your friend right through the summer, but if you want an alternative, it’s that blouson style again that’s coming up this year. I’m also into a denim barn jacket too.

  1. Monica Vinader Pearl disc necklace (ise code KATEHMV20 for discount)
  2. Jigsaw Merino Cocoon Jumper
  3. Wyse X Finlay Ledbury Sunglasses
  4. M&S Denim Cross Stitch Casual Utility Jacket
  5. Cos Twine Barrel Leg Beige Jeans
  6. Laniege Juice Box Lip Tint
  7. Salomon XT‑6 Sneakers

Let’s hope we get some weather this week to wear our spring jackets again.
