Ok, so first off, I wouldn’t really say that any of these things are absolute essentials, but I did feel compelled to show you a few new-season items from Mint Velvet that have caught my eye recently.
I’ve bought a few things from there in the past — usually accessories, if I’m honest. They do a good selection of quality belts at decent prices, and some of the costume jewellery is right up my street. But I was moved to explore more after a friend of mine told me (and I quote), “You have to buy the Mint Velvet barrel jeans right now, they are the best pair of jeans I’ve ever had.” That is a bold statement indeed, but I will always listen to good jeans recommendations — as you know, I basically live in denim 90% of the time.
So today I ducked into Peter Jones to seek out these effusive jeans. Would I be swayed? Did I need another pair of jeans? Yes and no… but as it turns out: yes, and indeed yes. They are very good (true to size, nice fit, and a good ankle length), but the jury is out on whether they are the best jeans ever.
