8 December Outfits All On Sale

Like it or loathe it, Black Friday weekend is here. I find it completely overwhelming sometimes. What I try to do to quieten the shopping noise is, firstly, look at starting my Christmas shopping. That way, I’m grabbing bargains on behalf of others – check out my gift guides here for some ideas.

When I’m shopping for myself, I seek out those pieces I’ve previously thought about buying full price. Try to think about where the gaps in your wardrobe might be. Will it serve a purpose? Do you love it? Can you see yourself wearing it for a few years to come?

If you can answer yes to these questions, then go for it. To help you navigate the deals out there, I’ve picked out eight outfits for you, and all of these items are discounted (at the time of writing, and most end tonight so best to be quick today). Don’t forget that some places need a code, so check the home page of each site for those details.

MY FAVOURITE STATEMENT COAT

I love this Rixo coat, and I know I’ll be wearing it for years to come. It’s such an easy piece to liven up any outfit. I’ve only had mine for a month, but I’ve already worn it at least six times, which suggests it’s going to be a very good price-per-wear item. Also, special mention to this red cardigan, which is definitely a ‘homage’ to the Sézane Emilie cardi but for a fraction of the price.

A TOUCH OF FAIR ISLE

It’s always a favourite knitwear style at this time of year, and this weekend there are lots of jumpers and cardis on offer if you’re looking to grab a seasonal sweater. Also worth noting: DeMellier have 20% off pretty much every bag right now. They’re such good quality, and a great price for a designer bag.

PICK UP A PUFFER

Kudos to you if you’ve hung on until Black Friday weekend to buy your big winter coat, as there are plenty on discount now. I think my favourite is this one from WAT THE BRAND; it’s 30% off using code WATBROWNFRIDAY.

JUST JEANS & A NICE TOP

For me, this has always been, and will continue to be, an absolute failsafe option for most occasions. Weddings and funerals excepted, of course. I think next week I might do a full post on this, but in the meantime, here are a couple of options.

LOVELY LEATHER

For this one, I was influenced by a reader who messaged me a while ago to get my thoughts on this All Saints jacket. My response was: ‘Yes, that’s a really lovely alternative to a classic biker jacket, and now I want it too.’ When it went on sale, we both ordered it, and I can confirm it’s a winner and a keeper. I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of it.

GOING OUT OUT

If you want more ‘out out’ ideas, please have a look at this post, especially as many of the featured pieces may well be on sale this weekend too. I’d probably veer towards the accessories, because if you already have a simple black dress, you can easily refresh the look by updating your add-ons.

SMART CASUAL

I’d rather spend my money on things I’ll use on a daily basis, as opposed to those I’ll only wear to fancy parties – of which I go to maybe four a year, tops. In fact, I don’t think I’ve been to a single party this year where there was a dress code. But I have worn these jeans probably over 40 times this year alone, so that’s where my money goes.

TOASTY ON THE TERRACES

Finally, one for anyone who spends a lot of their free time outside watching sports. Annoyingly, my favourite cashmere Heattech from Uniqlo is not on sale, but the cashmere beanies, the warm socks and a lot of the puffer jackets are. I picked up these leather Uggs this week, specifically to wear to the football. They’re sturdier and, hopefully, more water resistant than my old ones.
