Wears My Money

I mean, really…

My Summer Free People Picks

This post is sponsored by Free People, a fantastic brand for summer dresses, but also a whole lot more besides. I wore my new Dahlia dress for the first time in Jamaica. I mean, there couldn’t be a better place to wear it, but I think it will be equally at home in the city this summer worn with trainers or sandals and a denim jacket for the chilly evenings. I might be a tiny bit previous with this post, but I know that a lot of you might be going on an actual abroad holiday this coming half term, so I thought this might be of use now.

Free People have SO much choice on their site and it can feel a little daunting if you’re doing a bit of unspecific browsing but, fear not, as I’ve done the hard work for you and picked out some of my favourite items. I own a few of these other than the Dahlia dress. I have two ‘Love of My Life’ dresses, one in black and one in the rust colour from years gone by, and they come out every single summer. A very flattering dress and made from a lovely, light and airy, gauzy cotton. (Note on these: I did have to put a small stitch in the front as otherwise it was a bit too low-cut for me, or you could wear a pretty vest underneath.) I’m a 12 and generally I buy a medium from Free People.

I also have this shirt, which is nice and loose and perfect for a city summer, these trousers (they come up long but I roll them up) and this jacket, which is just the perfect western-style denim jacket. Nice and roomy too. Here are some of my top picks. I hope you find something to inspire you…
