I spent it all on clothes by the looks of things...

Just for Joanie

This post is sponsored by Joanie.  It’s a brand I’ve been a fan of since they launched back in 2016. Around the same time I started writing this blog. I like that they know what works for them and they do it very well. The range isn’t exhaustive, they stick with classic vintage style designs  and are not afraid to repeat their popular pieces season after season. We can call it slow fashion as they don’t subscribe to having a new range every week.

The Joanie brand are inspired by vintage designs and aim to be as inclusive as possible. You could be a size 8 or 18 and still look good in their gear and the prices are really reasonable too. This Black Friday you can get an even better deal with 40% off  EVERYTHING on the site from 23rd Nov until Dec 2nd.

JOANIE KNITWEAR

The Classic Joanie ‘Abbey Road’ Jumper and button front denim skirt

I’ve always been a fan of a slogan sweater. I think I can trace that back to the knock off ‘Choose Life’ or ‘Frankie Says Relax’ T Shirts my mum got me at Farnborough Market. Joanie do a great range. My favourite has to be the Abbey Road jumper. Possibly because I worked at EMI Records for 15 years so I feel a kinship with those studios. I once went to a ‘long service’ dinner for work when I had been there for 10 years. The lady sitting next to me had served 40 YEARS working at Abbey Road! Oh, the tales she could tell.

1. Elsa Alpine Scene Picture Knit Jumper
2. Ringo Abbey Road Intarsia Jumper
3. Comet Electric Dreams Sequin Slogan Jumper
4. Karen Afternoon Delight Slogan Jumper
5. Bailey Carnaby Street Intarsia Jumper
6. Chevy Dark Chevron Stripe Jumper

JOANIE SWEATSHIRTS & T SHIRTS

The Joanie sweatshirts have great literary stance, they make you feel clever even if you last read Jane Eyre for your GCSE and the closest you’ve got to Bronte recently is to watch the Timothee Chalamet in the latest Little Women film.  But better than that, they are SUPER soft. I tend to size up as I like my sweats oversized. I’m wearing a large here, but in general they are true to size.

1. Heathcliff Wuthering Heights Slogan Sweatshirt
2. Lydia Pride & Prejudice Slogan Sweatshirt
3. Bronte Readers Club Sweatshirt — Grey
4. Carrie Hope Fletcher X Joanie — Nala Scaredy Cat Sweatshirt
5. Ride Fly Me To The Moon Slogan Sweatshirt
6. Born Weird Slogan Sweatshirt

JOANIE SKIRTS, BLOUSES

The Venetia big collar check blouse and Sarah scallop mini skirt

Joanie don’t do trousers. Maybe that’s because vintage ladies never really wore them. but they do do a few cool skirts and blouses. With my new found love for a mini skirt, my favourite is the button front denim skirt. It has a cute scallop hem and also comes in black.

1. Ali Space Print Blouse
2. Gladys Belted Button Denim Skirt
3. Venetia Oversized Collar Check Blouse — Forest Green
4. Sarah Scallop A‑Line Denim Skirt — Blue

JOANIE DRESSES

wearing my Sierra square neck dress down the towpath earlier this year.

Yes, you’d be right in thinking ‘that photo wasn’t taken recently’. It was from the summer but with a good cardi or a thermal vest, you could wear this one all year around. Joanie even have a section on the site that is specifically ‘Dresses With Pockets’. I wish every company did this as we all know dresses deserve pockets.

1. Flynn Tartan Frill Smock Dress
2. Juno Long Sleeve Velvet Midi Dress
3. Sierra Square Neck Tiered Cotton Midaxi Dress — Black
4. Mars Colourful Star & Moon Print Midi Dress

Don’t forget you can get 40% off until Dec 2nd.
