Spotlight On Amazon Fashion

This post has been done in collaboration with Amazon Fashion but all words and thoughts are my own.

So, Amazon. It’s become part of our everyday life has it not? I remember when it was just books. Is that akin to saying ‘I remember when it were all fields round here and we only got coal for Christmas’? But these days there is almost nothing you can’t ‘Prime’ and have it delivered to your door before you’ve even got out of bed. Having the cat food on a monthly recurring order is an absolute godsend with 4 of the little blighters living in our house.

But did you know they also do a good line in Fashion? Including a few of their own brands? I did not know this until late last year. They have Find, Maraki and Amazon Essentials. They also do ‘Deals of the Day’ where some great bargains can be had. It’s sometimes tricky to navigate the site though unless you know exactly what you are looking for, so I’ve picked out some of my favourites for you here.

WORKWEAR

Keeping it simple with a monochrome look entirely from Amazon Fashion own brands. I got this coat last year and it’s had many a compliment. I like the white buttons, makes it a bit more interesting than your standard run of the mill black winter coat. Pair with the contrast pointed brogues, a good cardi, you know I love a good cardi, and black chinos and you’re good to go.

WEEKENDING

Sundays regular blog post was all about Puffer jackets, this one from Levis should really have gone in that. Perfect for winters on the sidelines. Add a good Fairisle sweater and match the colours to your socks. is it just me that likes to do that? I can’t help it, I love a good colourful sock. These DM boots literally go with almost everything I own. Dresses, Skirts, Jeans and Trousers. They are classics that will never date and only get better the more you wear them.

STAYING IN

Who doesn’t love staying in? Me that’s who. I relish a night on the sofa way more than a night on tiles these days. As soon as I walk through the door from work I take bra off, sweatpants and sweatshirt on. Fluffy Birkenstocks on feet, glass of red in hand. One Show on the telly. The One Show is like a grown up version of Blue Peter, but with a few celebrity guests thrown in for good measure.

BORROW FROM THE BOYS

To be honest, the only thing that’s from the menswear range is this striped jumper, but this outfit does remind me of something the boys at school would wear in the late 80’s. I had one of those Levis sheepskin jackets when I was about 18. I loved it so, but lost it somewhere along the way and I feel the urge to get one again and wear with my chunky DM boots to relive my teenage goth rock past.

While I have you, I should mention the Amazon Style Snap. It’s is actually a really great tool that helps you navigate their vast shop better. All you have to do is click the camera icon in the upper right hand corner of the Amazon app (app only not on the regular site) and select the ‘Style Snap’ option. Then upload a photograph or screenshot of a look that you like. Style Snap will then give you recommendations for similar items on Amazon that match the look in the photo. It really works, me and my friend Phoebe had hours (OK, minutes) of fun doing it the other day!
