In Between Days

In Between Days

I got all over excited on my previous post about coats and cashmere and all things Autumnal, but in reality it’s not quite here yet is it? We are kind of In Between days right now aren’t we?

I’m trying to hold myself back and be mindful not to wish away this currently glorious Indian summer those of us in London are currently enjoying. What I always tend forget is that winter lasts for-bloody-ever and come January I’ll be in a bad mood. My birthday is in early January and it’s crap, no-one has any money and no-one wants to go out. I always berated my mother for not considering my birth-date, then I went and had my first born on my actual birthday, and now it’s forever his celebration and not mine. Serves me right for chastising my parents…

Sorry, I’m getting side-tracked again. Back to the point. I did have a spin around the shops today. Went out get an M&S 2 for £10 meal-deal, came back with 2 nail polishes, a dress and a pair of shoes. Standard. Still, I could have bought a whole lot more, so that was fairly reserved of me. I came home and put together some outfit ideas that could be good for this trans-season limbo period…

Starting with a casual look. I REALLY want these Isabel Marant trainers. They’d go great with a bomber, denim culottes and Zoe Karssen sweatshirt, all of which I already own, here’s some ideas for you…

2. Bat Print Sweatshirt by Zoe Karssen from The Outnet
3. Etoile Beth Leather Trainers by Isabel Marant from Mytheresa

4. Moto Raw Hem Denim Culottes from Topshop

I do love a long sleeve dress, I’m starting get a pretty good collection. I like to wear with my classic leather biker jacket to butch it up a bit. I just accidentally fell into Zara and bought these studded basketball boots (what am I?, 16?. Don’t care. I just wanted them) And I love the colour of this handbag…

Oh looky here, I already have this Gucci bag (and how I love it so) I also have some navy wide-leg cropped trousers, but adding these shoes and this great red sweater would be just super…

2. Original GG Canvas and Leather Shoulder Bag from Gucci
3 .White Folde Flatform Brogues by Dune from John Lewis

And finally, we all have some black skinny jeans, let’s embrace our inner rock chick and pair with these AMAZING silver star boots I am lusting after, plus a slinky black shirt and an embroidered denim jacket…

Who knows, by the time you read this, we could be riding headlong into the bleak mid-winter, you just can’t count on this weather.

P.S. Even though I had a baby ON MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY, my husband never bought me an actual present. He also went home halfway through my labour to feed the cats and stopped to have a pint on the way back to the hospital…
